2021 BET Hip Hop Awards Returns To Atlanta

The 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards Is Back And Returns To Atlanta

The 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards will take place on Friday, October 1 at the Cobb Energy Center in Atlanta, GA. The broadcast premiere will be aired on BET on Tuesday, October 5 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

BET will tape their 16th annual edition of their BET Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta on Friday, Oct. 1. Since its introduction back in 2006, the BET hip hop music ceremony has come from the city in all but three years. In 2017-18, the exhibition was hosted at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Last year, due to the height of the pandemic, it was produced and recorded remotely.

The show will be directed by Connie Orlando, with Jamal Noisette serving as co-executive producer for BET. Jesse Collins, the CEO of Jesse Collins Entertainment, will serve as executive producer alongside Jeannae Rouzan-Clay and Dionne Harmon, two other prominent executives from the same company.

“Hip hop is a global movement that embraces the diversity of expression and reflects what is affecting our community in a raw and unapologetic way,” said Connie Orlando, EVP Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy at BET. “We look forward to celebrating this art form and returning to Atlanta for an unforgettable night of entertainment and culture synonymous with our high-rated signature tentpole events.”

Last year we saw comedy group 85 South host the show with performances by Cordae, Lil Baby Gucci Mane and Mulatto, Big Sean, Jhené Aiko, Ty Dolla $ign, and more. In 2021, we have experienced a combination of fresh new material as well as many comeback albums.

There are many big hip hop acts that come to mind that would make great performers for the 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards, but we will have to wait and see if they can come to fruition.
