Quinta Brunson returns in Abbott Elementary Season Two
The ABC Abbott Elementary season two trailer has arrived and it gives us a first look at what’s to come for the new school year. The sitcom follows the lives of Philadelphia school teachers and it rapidly gained views after making its ABC debut.last year in December.
Creator and lead actress Quinta Brunson returns in Abbott Elementary season two with Tyler James Williams, Lisa Ann Walter, Chris Perfetti, Janelle James, and Sheryl Lee Ralph as the school’s faculty. The teaser trailer shows the staff walking towards the doors of Abbott Elementary only for the school door keys to not work.
As Ava (Janelle James) tries to open the doors, the other teachers aren’t as enthusiastic and simply leave when Janine (Quinta Brunson) proposes they have a “heartfelt chat” about what they’re looking forward to in the upcoming academic year.
Tyler James Williams mentioned how Abbott Elementary has impacted network TV with its storytelling. “Our show is very much about the flexibility of teachers, working within the confines of difficulties and underfunding,” said Williams. “We have a real opportunity to humanize a group of people and tell their story in a way that could change the everyday person’s life on a daily basis.”
Due to the increased demand for the show, the ABC Abbott Elementary season two schedule will consist of a total of 22 episodes, nearly double the episodes from the first season. There have been seven Emmy nominations for season one, including Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for Quinta Brunson. The show was also honored by the African-American Film Critics Association for Best TV Comedy.
