Watch The Teaser For The Chris Rock Selective Outrage Netflix Special

Tune into the Chris Rock Selective Outrage comedy on March 4

In March, the Chris Rock Selective Outrage Netflix special will become the first ever comedy stand-up special to be livestreamed on a streaming platform. It also marks the first time Netflix has ever utilized livestreaming on their platform.

Netflix recently released a trailer for the Chris Rock Selective Outrage Netflix special, and the 30-second teaser opens with the comedian waiting in his green room and staring straight into a camera. After being told “they’re ready for you”, a montage is played of Rock walking toward the stage with Bun B’s “The Best is Back” playing in the background.

There’s definitely a more serious tone here, and no one is going to blame the Grammy and Emmy award winning comedian for it either — especially after what happened at the Oscars last year. We’re all here for it. We’re ready to smell what Chris Rock is cookin’.

This will be his seventh broadcast comedy special overall, and the second one on Netflix. The first was 2018’s Tambourine, which Bo Burnham directed. That special also marked Rock’s first special in a full decade. Prior to that, the last time we got a special from the 58-year-old comedian was in the Kill The Messenger HBO special from 2008.

“Chris Rock is one of the most iconic and important comedic voices of our generation,” said Netflix VP of stand-up and comedy formats. “We’re thrilled the entire world will be able to experience a live Chris Rock comedy event and be a part of Netflix history. This will be an unforgettable moment and we’re so honored that Chris is carrying this torch.”

The Chris Rock Selective Outrage Netflix special will air live on March 4 at 7pm PT.
