LONG LIVE COOLIO will feature Too $hort, Treach of Naughty by Nature, and more
LONG LIVE COOLIO is the forthcoming Coolio posthumous album and the rapper’s first since 2009’s From the Bottom 2 the Top. In September of 2022, the American rapper was working on new material alongside Too $hort, Treach of Naughty by Nature, DJ Wino, and many more.
Out today, Coolio’s new single “TAG You It” from LONG LIVE COOLIO featuring Too $hort is available for online streaming. According to a statement in which the project was announced, “TAG You It” was produced by DJ Wino, Coolio’s longtime friend. The release date for the album has not yet been confirmed.
Six of Coolio’s songs have made the Billboard Hot 100 list over the course of his career, with the 90s hit “Gangsta’s Paradise” spending three weeks at the top of the chart in 1995 and spending a total of 38 weeks on the list.
Prior to his passing, Coolio was recording music and finalizing a deal for a 10-show residency at the Westgate Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The rapper was also working as the voice of Futurama’s “Kwanzaa-Bot” for the show’s upcoming relaunch on Hulu.
