HBO Max Lizzo Live In Concert Movie Premieres December 31

The Lizzo Live In Concert movie is set to feature Cardi B, SZA, and Missy Elliot

Scheduled to launch on New Year’s Eve, the HBO Max Lizzo Live In Concert movie just finished recording last month at the American artist’s “The Special Tour” show at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California. The Emmy and Grammy award-winning Lizzo described it as “the culmination” of her documentary Love, Lizzo, which premiered on HBO Max on November 24.

The HBO Max Lizzo Live In Concert movie was directed by Sam Wrench and produced by Kevin Beisler. Lizzo worked as an executive producer for Done+Dusted alongside Ian Stewart, Leah Lane, and Hamish Hamilton for her firm Lizzobangers.

According to HBO Max, the Lizzo Live In Concert movie will feature Lizzo’s usual suspects, including The Big Grrrls and her band and dance group The Lizzbians and The Little Bigs. Cardi B, SZA, and Missy Elliott have also been confirmed to make special guest appearances at the performance.

Since late September, Lizzo has been touring North America while performing songs from her Special album, one of the highest-charting women’s albums of 2022. A second North American tour for spring 2023 was announced and she will also tour the UK and Europe with Joy Crookes in February and March. If you didn’t have a chance to see her live, now is the time to subscribe to HBO Max, turn up the music, and enjoy yourself.

If you haven’t tuned into Love, Lizzo, we highly recommend it as it chronicles Lizzo’s life and ascent to fame. With footage from the singer’s early career, she can be heard explaining that she struggled for a long time to believe that one day she would be singing in front of a large crowd.

Lizzo Live in Concert premieres on December 31.
