HBO Max More Than A Month Honors Black History

In celebration of Black History, HBO Max More Than a Month showcases Black content

Starting today, the HBO Max More Than a Month campaign has launched and features an extensive slate of programming that promotes the distinct voices, timeless stories, and stunning performances of the Black community. The subscription-based video on demand service will retain their Black Voices collection that is now here to stay.

Within the app, the HBO Max Black Voices collection will highlight programming developed by Black content creators including HBO Originals such as Lovecraft County, Max Originals including The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Reunion, documentaries, biopics, legacy titles, and more. There’s also programming from Black content creators and leaders included in the HBO Max Black Voices collection. Throughout the HBO Max More Than A Month campaign, HBO Max will provide a free screening of HBO’s original documentary film A Choice of Weapons: Gordon Parks. Additionally, the following titles will also become free via the “Watch Free” hub on HBOMax.com:

• Love Life (Season 2, Episode 1)
• South Side (Season 2, Episode 1)

The campaign will also debut the 2021 finalists of HBO’s Short Films Competition while partnering with the American Black Film Festival (ABFF). These films include Cracked, Mass Ave, Pure, The Snakes, and When the Sun Sets.

In order to further inspire debate amongst the audience, a social destination titled “HBO Max Scene in Black” will help amplify stories and talent from the Black community. It will host Twitter watch parties every week throughout February to honor nostalgic programming on the service.
