Live Nation And Mass Appeal Present Hip-Hop 50 Live Concert

The Hip-Hop 50 Live concert features Run D.M.C., Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, and many more

In what will become one of the most legendary shows in history to be held at Yankee Stadium, the Hip-Hop 50 Live concert is set to go down this summer on Friday, August 11. A star-studded bill including Run D.M.C., Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Ice Cube, and plenty more will be celebrating Hip-Hop’s 50th birthday.

“I am honored to hit the stage in the Bronx, the birthplace of hip-hop and celebrate all of my heroes,” Run told Rolling Stone.

“August is hip-hop’s 50th birthday! So ’up in the Bronx’ where it all started we will be celebrating this historic moment in history!” D.M.C. added. “I am honored to pay tribute to the culture that allowed this little shy kid from Queens to grow up and become The Mighty King of Rock! Thank you hip-hop!”

According to the official Hip-Hop 50 Live concert lineup, Eve, Lil Kim, T.I., Fat Joe, Common, EPMD, Ghostface Killah, Lupe Fiasco, and Slick Rick will also be joining the show. Mass Appeal has also stated that additional performers will be added to the lineup at a later time.

Pre-sales for the Hip-Hop 50 Live concert begin on Thursday, June 8 at 10 AM EST until 10 PM EST with prices starting at $50. General tickets will start to sell on June 9 at 10 AM EST. The event will be co-produced by Mass Appeal, Live Nation and the New York Yankees. The show’s creative music directors will include Emmy Award-winner and BASSic Black Entertainment CEO Adam Blackstone and producer and keyboardist Omar Edwards.
