Idris Elba Stars In Hijack Apple TV+ Series

In a new seven-part drama series, Idris Elba stars in Hijack

Announced today by Apple, Idris Elba stars in Hijack Apple TV+ series led by “Lupin” writer George Kay. Elba will play Sam Nelson, a successful business negotiator who must stand up and utilize his abilities to save the lives of the passengers on a hijacked plane to London. Hijack’s release date has yet to be confirmed..

The Hijack Apple TV+ Series is written by George Kay, the creator of Lupin and Criminal, and directed by Jim Field Smith. Together, Smith executive produced the Hijack series with Elba. The new show is part of the English actor’s first-look deal with Apple, which he signed through his production company Green Door Pictures.

Elba’s Green Door has a number of recent TV credits, including BBC2’s Idris Elba: Fight School, which premiered last week in the UK. Green Door also produced the Netflix comedy Turn Up Charlie, which stars Elba.

As Idris Elba stars in Hijack, the show will join a lineup of Apple TV+ thrillers that includes Ben Stiller’s Severance, Shining Girls, and Alfonso Cuarón’s Disclaimer.
