The first preview of the new Beyoncé song Break My Soul is here
The new Beyoncé song Break My Soul has been released and it’s a banger. Using a sample of 1992’s “Show My Love” by Robin S, Beyoncé is “looking for a new foundation” in her new dance track bringing in old school house vibes mixed with her classic crooning that we’ve fallen in love with.
As the first track since the announcement of her new album Renaissance, the new Beyoncé Song Break My Soul is the Queen B’s first original song since 2021’s Be Alive. The Renaissance lead single was produced by Beyoncé, The-Dream, and Christopher “Tricky” Stewart”, with additional credits to Adam Pigott, Allen George, and Fred McFarlane.
The single released on June 20 to YouTube and Tidal, two hours before its official release on June 21 at midnight Eastern Time to coincide with June solstice. Break My Soul marks the first single in six years from a Beyoncé solo studio album.
It seems like Bey has been on a hiatus for quite some time as Renaissance will be her first album since her 2016 LP Lemonade. Since then, the most-awarded female artist in history has released the live performance of her 2018 Coachella set in Homecoming: The Live Album, and done a collaboration with her husband Jay-Z on Everything Is Love. She also voiced the character Nala in The Lion King remake in 2019, and received a nomination at the 2022 Oscars for Best Original Song with “Be Alive”, written for the Oscar-winning film, King Richard.
