Meta Quest 2 Fitness Update Coming Soon

The Meta Quest 2 fitness update will include heart rate monitoring

It was only a matter of time until VR exercising became more accessible, and now with the Meta Quest 2 fitness update, more people can work out (or play) in the virtual realm.

The new Meta Quest 2 fitness update will work alongside Android smartphone users, a feature that was previously exclusive to Apple iPhone users. Both Meta Quest Pro and Meta Quest 2 users will be able to sync their VR workouts with the Android Health Connect, an API that collects fitness data and is utilized across several apps. The data will be gathered all in one place, which conveniently helps the user manage and monitor their workout activities and goals.

It’s super simple to get started on the Meta Quest Pro and Meta Quest 2 fitness update. Owners will need to first use the Move app on the Quest headset in order to sync up the update. Open the Settings, then scroll down and toggle the “Connect Move to Meta Quest Mobile App” option to on.

From there, open the Meta Quest mobile app from your mobile device. Tap the Menu icon followed by the Move icon. Open the “Connected Apps” tab and toggle on the option to sync data with “Health Connect”. Then allow permissions for the “Exercise and Active Calories Burned” data to be shared. Voila, now you can find all your data in the Android Health Connect app.

The option to turn on data syncing with Health Connect is then available under the Linked Applications menu. Allow the permissions for your “Exercise and Active Calories Burned” data to be shared, and you’re good to go. Now you can then find all your data in the Android Health Connect app.
