New Beyoncé Album Renaissance Is Finally Here

The new Beyoncé album Renaissance is the follow up to 2016’s Lemonade

BeyHive rise up—the new Beyoncé album Renaissance is officially out today! The long-awaited LP by Queen Bey features sensual lyrics, danceable tunes, and a total vibe. Can you believe it’s been over six years since Lemonade?

“To all of my fans: I hope you find joy in this music,” wrote Beyoncé in a letter to fans. “I hope it inspires you to release the wiggle. And to feel as unique, strong, and sexy as you are.”

Beyoncé further explained that while she was recording the 16-track album during the pandemic, it gave her an outlet during a very trying time. Hopefully the new Beyoncé album Renaissance offers her release now that it’s finally launched.

“My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment,” said Beyoncé . “A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration.”

The Grammy award-winner’s newest solo album includes a variety of co-composers as well as samples of James Brown, Donna Summer, Giorgio Moroder, Teena Marie, and more. The melody of “Break My Soul” is a flashback of Robin S.’ ‘90s hit “Show Me Love,” while ”Pure/Honey” is reminiscent of Prince’s ‘80s pop style.

Other artists that contributed to the album include Mike Dean, Honey Dijon, No I.D., Chris Penny, Raphael Saadiq, Luke Solomon, and Nova Wav. Beyoncé chose to depart from the visual album format from Lemonade as discussed in a recent press release for Renaissance.

“It is a chance again to be listeners and not viewers, while taking in every gem of the pristine production,” the release states. Renaissance is also described as “a celebration of a club era when anyone who felt like an outsider sought each other and formed a community of freedom-seekers to express themselves creatively through the rhythm, which we still celebrate today.”

Without further ado, stream the new Beyoncé album Renaissance below. It’s officially “Hot Bey Summer”.
