Kid Cudi and Isaiah Russell-Bailey adventure the moon in the Crater official trailer
Watch the Crater official trailer below! Crater is a Disney+ Original Movie that will be premiering exclusively on the streaming service on May 12. The coming-of-age sci-fi adventure is directed by Kyle Patrick Alvarez and stars Isaiah Russell-Bailey, Mckenna Grace, Billy Barratt, Orson Hong, Thomas Boyce, and rapper singer-songwriter Kid Cudi himself, Scott Mescudi.
As seen in the Crater official trailer, the film centers around a kid named Caleb Channing (Russell-Bailey) who grew up in a lunar mining colony and is about to be sent permanently to a beautiful distant planet as a result of the passing of his father, played by Mescudi. Before departing, Caleb has to carry out his father’s final desire. Along with his four closest friends, he goes on one final adventure to explore a mysterious crater.
Many of Caleb’s friends spent their entire lives inside the dome they called home, never venturing outside. Since she is from Earth, Addison stands out as the odd one out in this situation. Along the way, the group of friends share experiences including playing moon baseball, trying out jet packs, and being stuck in meteor showers.
McKenna Grace, Billy Barratt, Orson Hong, Thomas Boyce round out the main cast while Kyle Patrick Alvarez is in charge of directing with John Griffin on the script. Crater is produced by Dan Cohen, Dan Levine, and Shawn Levy. Levy had been in talks to take the helm of Crater when it was first set up at 20th Century Fox back in 2017. The film is now developed by Disney’s live-action team as a result of the Disney-Fox deal.
