The Nipsey Hussle docuseries teaser gives us a glimpse at the life of the late rapper and activist
Check out the new Nipsey Hussle docuseries teaser, produced by NBA basketball superstar LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s SpringHill who have collaborated to tell us the life story of the late Airmiess Joseph Asghedom.
The series will tell “the comprehensive and incredible story of Nipsey Hussle… from his days as a young boy growing up in Crenshaw, to the musician and activist he became in the later years of his life,” according to a synopsis included included with the Nipsey Hussle docuseries teaser trailer.
“It’s an incredible honor for SpringHill to have a part in sharing Nipsey’s story and legacy with the world,” said LeBron. “He used his gift to give back to his community and lived what it means to inspire, empower, and uplift others along the way. His words, his ambition, and his actions stick with me to this day as he continues to inspire myself, our company, and people everywhere.”
Archival footage of Nipsey’s 1990s childhood in Los Angeles, his performances in sold-out arenas, and his parenting are mixed together in the trailer. It depicts his dedication to doing good deeds for his community along with his accolades including his 2019 Grammy nomination.
“Faith is a required element on your marathon to success and on your marathon of life, “says Nipsey in a voiceover. “It’s your footprint in the sand, your dent in the universe, the impact on the world around you. I want ’em to say that he wasn’t afraid to live. Chasing a dream.”
Emmy-nominated director One9 will executive produce and direct the documentary series while Larrance “Rance” Dopson, a Grammy Award-winning producer and longtime collaborator of Nipsey, is the music composer.
