Star Wars Celebration London dropped the first official Star Wars Ahsoka teaser trailer and its got us eagerly waiting for its debut on Disney+. The breathtaking new TV series follows the journey of Ahsoka Tano as she looks into a potential threat to a galaxy in need.
Also introduced in the Star Wars Ahsoka teaser trailer are the antagonistic characters Sabine Wren, played by Natasha Liu Bordizzo, and Baylan, played by Ray Stevenson. Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s portrayal of Hera Syndulla has also been confirmed, and even got our first look at Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Scenes of the teaser showcase Ahsoka ambushed in a mysterious Jedi temple, Sabine and her cat meditating, and Hera Syndulla engaged in a gunfight. Mon Mothma, played by Genevieve O’Reilly, is among a group of government officials with whom Ahsoka is shown conversing in order to warn them of impending hazards.
“I started hearing whispers about Thrawn’s return as heir to the empire,” says Mon as the trailer shows clips of Thrawn’s back. In another clip, Sabine is observing an image of Ezra Bridger in a hologram. The series’ purported central theme is the hunt for Ezra, but based on the debut teaser, Ahsoka appears to have much more in store for us.
The teaser appears to be the result of showrunner Dave Filoni’s labor of love and is jam-packed with lightsaber action. The environment that George Lucas always aimed to create was built, according to Jon Favreau and Kathleen Kennedy, with the help of Filoni.
At Star Wars Celebration London, Rosario Dawson was a little less reserved when she took the microphone. Especially in light of her desire to continue portraying the part. She said that a second season might be planned if the show is successful.
